I am not sure if I am posting this question in the correct section, but here goes.

I have attached a screen shot. I notice when this plugin lists the address that it returns, in my site for some reason it puts the city address on the same line as the street address which looks pretty funky. See attached.

Can someone tell me if I posted this question in the correct section and can I anticipate getting some help with this?

    Hi,
The plugin outputs the address as one line and doe’s not break it. What happens on your site I believe is that the element wrapping the address is narrow and squeeze the address to fit in it. You will most likely need to adjust the element with some CSS to make the address fit better.

Thanks so much for this! Would you happen to be able to tell me which word press file (and even one better which line or lines of code within that file) affect this? If not I will have to hire someone!! 😉

If you’d tell me what is exactly that you would like to do I might be able to better help you.

As I mentioned above, when the plugin returns the address after the search, for some reason it puts the city on the same line as the street address which is incorrect. I would like to correct this and have the address appear as it should, with the city on the same line as the state and zip code. See attached. But I need to know the exact wp file and line of code in that file that effects this and needs to be modified.

I wanted to say that sometimes in the backend, I am forced to enter an address that looks like this with commas. 1 E Washington St, Phoenix, AZ 85004, USA It will not let me remove the commas if I try and then save. It puts the commas back. It doesn’t always do this, but when it does, then in this case is when the address always looks wrong on the result page from the site. For example, in this case it would come out looking like

    1 E Washington St, Phoenix,
    AZ 85004, USA

    instead of

    1 E Washington St
    Phoenix AZ 85004 USA

    Hope this helps.

Looking at your site I don’t see the address. I can only assume that you removed it.

Anyway, as suggested above the column are too narrow and cannot fit the address on one field. You can use some custom CSS to make the columns wider. Something like:

or just play around with the widget value until you see that the address fits.

I wanted to say that sometimes in the backend, I am forced to enter an address that looks like this with commas.

That is because the plugin returns the formatted address after Google API geocodes the address entered. Google API puts commas where needed in the returned address.

Placing the script below in the functions.php of your theme will display the address the way you enter it instead of the formatted address:

    I hope that helps.

Thank you. Here is the page where I am seeing the problem. http://www.callaninjuryattorney.com/partners/kelly-law-team-personal-injury-attorney/

Here is an example where I do not have the problem.
    http://www.callaninjuryattorney.com/partners/snyder-wenner-attorneys-personal-injury-law/

I pasted the code that you suggested into functions.php.

I also changed this code as suggested from the default width of 18% to 25% in the style.css

    .city_section .city_pnl{text-align:center; width:25%; border-left:1px solid #a1a1a1 !important;padding:0px 0px 0px 1% !important;display:inline-block;vertical-align:top;}

Are you seeing it corrected from your view? I cleared my cache but am not yet seeing an improvement, but sometimes my site doesn’t seem to update the changes I make immediately.

The page you provide above is a different page than the one I was looking at when giving you your code.

Regardless, it doesn’t look like the address is easily going to fit in one line based on the current setup of your page. It just doesn’t have enough space to spread on my line because of the column on the right that holds the images.
You will need to “play around” with the page CSS and with the width of the column and possibly make the address a bit smaller.

I do not want the address to be on one line. I want the address to show in the correct format which is the following.

    line 1 street
    line 2 city state zip

    not

    line 1 street city
    line 2 state zip

Some results are showing correct and some don’t. That’s the strange thing. I gave examples of one of each in my last post, with the two links I provided.

The thing is that on this page the address generated directly on the page and not using GEO my WP function. That is what it looks like at least. So there is not much I can help you with. You will need to edit the template file directly and output the address fields that you need in there.

Did other developer work on this site before?

yes, this was custom developed by someone I do not have access to. Maybe I can hire someone to go in my backend and tell me what is causing this.
