Premium version themes demo
For those who asked me about the feature themes (Real Estates and restaurants) from the premium version i added demo links: Real estate and Restaurants. I use both with the Real estate post type but Obviously you can attache them to any of your post types.
Check out the two links under the "Post Types" link. you can see the use of the themes, the feature "mark feature posts" which add the green band to a feature post and you can add your own images. on top of the results you can see random feature posts and in the restaurants link you can see the use of the feature "per results google map" and the "days & hours" (added days and hours info to 2 or 3 or the posts).
Bug fixes and new feature for the next update.
to let you guys know i am working on few bug fixes for the next update hopefully will be ready for next week.
- i know of some issues of GEO my WP with IE. i am working on it.
- Also found a bug in friend finder that prevent results from showing when there is a "Select Box" profile field in the search form
- The "Full Address" profile field that need to be created is suppose to be hidden at all times (registration and in the "edit profile" page).
- There is a Conflict when using both GEO my WP and BP Checkins. I am working on that as well.
- Also trying to get around few issues with location and cookies in areas outside the USA.
Features Ready for next premium version release:
- Groups Locator - Now group's admins can add a location to their groups. You can see a demo here. Site's admins can also choose a global map's icon for the groups or let the group admins choose one.
You can try by creating a new group. After creating the group go to its location tab and enter the location. please let me know of any errors you get into.
- Few users mentioned the privacy issues that can be caused by displaying a full address of the members in the results page. I got new features for that:
1) Now profile fields fully integrated with the location. Admins can now choose which fields from the address fields to be used in the plugin. So you can create only "zipcode" and "state", or only "city" and "state" or any other combination. this way users can feel safe when registering and using the site. Also added new "address fields" settings to the shortcode. So if you do choose to use all the address fields with the profile fields you can still choose to hide the one that you want from the results page. meant that the user might have the full address in the database but in the results it will show only "city" and "state".
2) Another new feature let you "cancel" the "location" tab for the logged in user. Few users mentioned
that the "location" tab might be a bit confusing or advance for some people. The new feature will let you choose to use only the "Edit profile" page to modify the location and the "Location" tab will display the map for the logged in users.
3) For those of you who let their members choose their map's icon, they can do it from the "Edit Profile" page as well.
I hope i get fixes for the bugs above so i can release an update already next week. When done i will jump into the Gravity Form integration.
Coming soon to the premium version
* Group Locator - add locations to groups and create a search form to locate groups near location.
* integration with gravity form - let your members add/update locations to posts from the front end.
* Automatically Display results near displayed post - shortcode or widget that will display results near single location.

The premium version of the GEO my WP plugin is now available at www.wpplugins.com . Your support would be much appreciated. The premium version includes many extra features that can be very useful:

- Near Location members widget that automatically displays members near user's location.
- Feature posts - let admin mark posts as feature posts and later display then on top of the results or mark them as feature post within the search results. can be useful for payed posts.
- Choose you marker icon for the map. you can add your own icons to choose from.
- let Buddypress members choose their own map marker icon from the list.
- display members avatars as map's marker icons.
- choose the map icon when creating a post type.
- Two Nice results templates that can be used to display location or restaurant results.
- and more....
* Please note:
- the Xprofile fields integration, the avatar map icons and the improvement of the Geolocator are the latest features and might have a bug or two (hopefully not). please report any issue and i will get a fix ASAP.
- There are few issues with IE and the results themes (real estate and restaurants) i am working on that and hopefully have a fix this week.
- I am still working on full documentation for the premium version. For now you can follow the tooltips within the admin pages and you can use the support forum or you can email me at info@geomywp.com for any questions, feature requests and bug reports.

GEO my WP - New home of WordPress Places Locator
Welcome to GEO my Wp - the new face and the new home of WordPress Places Locator plugin. This is the initial release of GEO my WP but the continuous version of WordPress Places Locator. This version comes with new features which the main one is integration with Buddypress and a premium version with even more awesome features is soon to be released. So now, since the plugin let you add location and search for not only post types but also for members i have decided to give it a new name.
I have made a great number of changes and improvements in the front end, backend and behind the scenes. The first change to notice is the backend. Works smother, more stylish and user friendly. every feature and setting is now documented within the back end. Other features and settings added that will let you more control on the search forms and results.
Buddypress - once you turn on the feature (add-ons page) a new "location" tab will be added to the member's profile page. The location tab includes an address form for the logged in user and the map and address of the member's location when visiting his profile. for members, adding a location is as simple as filling up the address form.
Now when creating a search form shortcode you can choose between "post types" search form or Buddypress search form. You will have the same setting for Buddypress search form such as to choose the profile fields , address field title( new ), radius values, units. and for the results you can show/hide avatar and its height/width, distance, driving distance, get directions link and more.
in the main settings you can now choose if turn on/off the auto locator that get the user's current location when he first visits the site. Auto display results near user's location when first visiting a search page, theme color , choose the locator icon or add your own and more.....
Update - If you have never used WordPress places locator before all you need to do is install the plugin and use. If you have WordPress places locator install right now so please remove it from the plugins folder into a safe place as a backup and install GEO my WP. The only things you'll might have to worry about are the settings and the shortcodes. you will have to go and save the new settings and the short codes again. As for the data and locations , everything will stay the same. you wont lose any of it.
This version went trough alot of changes so you might experience errors. if you find any or if you have any questions feedback or future suggestions please report in the forum or contact me at info@geomywp.com.
